Progress

Well, everything seems to be in a good way, many of the students are improving but some others aren´t improving at all. They mentioned that now they feel more comfortable about learning English but their grades still under the average asked. I´m thinking about changing a bit on  my lesson plans because one of the students told me about the speed of the classes, and I´d rather to work slower in order to see the development of my students, I´m taking a record of the grades of the students in order to see the raise of grades. From the beginning to now they have increase their general average from 6.7 to 7.1....I know it is just a little considering how exhausted I´m but it seems to be good!

  1. Hi Luis Eduardo,

just keep going! remember this saying very famous we have in Spanish: "Roma no se hizo en un día". Your Ss rised their grades, that's the point!

    Good luck!

  2. Hi Luis,
I think that you are doing a good job because your students are improving step by step.
For those that are not improving at all…what about one-to-one teaching?
Of course the size of the class it is something important to consider. When students are working in groups they have more chances for interaction in that way they could help each other and not rely too much in you (teacher).

    Greetings :)

  3. An overall grade improvement of almost .5 is something to congratulate yourself on, Luis! It means all the effort you are investing is achieving what you set out to do.

As Sara says, myabe you need to work on strategies to help those who are struggling most with their grades. If on-on-one teaching isn't possible, could you take advantage of group-work activities to dedicate more time to those who need it most? Or could you get the higher achieving students to support those who are struggling? Good luck!
